According to Mr. Ha, during the holiday season 30.4, 1.5, the ferry will operate 5 ferries to view nearly 200 tons, running continuously to serve passengers. Besides, there will be a small 20 -ton ferry mobilized in urgent cases. Based on the number of vehicles present at the ferry, the unit is proactive in time, arranged to run earlier than the time prescribed in the morning or run overtime, increase the trip at the end of the day. The wharf mobilizes 100% of human resources, increasing overtime until the service of all passengers, in accordance with the direction of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City.
"Since the beginning of April, the number of passengers traveling by ferry through Cat Ba has begun to increase sharply. At peak times, vehicles have to wait nearly an hour to cross the ferry. It is expected that during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the number of passengers will increase many times, so we will deploy synchronous measures, trying to make passengers only have to wait about 1-1.1 hours to get on the ferry (in favorable weather conditions)" - The ferry terminal manager said.
Speed up the progress of the ferry terminal expansion project
It is known that Cat Hai district is implementing investment projects, construction, renovation and expansion of Cai Vien ferry, Dong Bai ferry and auxiliary works. Accordingly, it will expand the road up and down the ferry, asphalt concrete surface, renovate and upgrade the entire old pier, dredge to clear the channel to create favorable conditions for the ferry to dock; Renovating waiting houses, building new toilets to serve the needs of tourists.
The project started in January 2025 and is expected to be completed in September 2025. However, Cat Hai district is requiring contractors to speed up the progress, striving to complete the construction of the entire old Cai Vieng - Phu Long ferry terminal to put it into use before April 25, complete the approach road at Dong Bai ferry terminal before the April 30 holiday. The remaining items will be completed in May and June 2025.
In addition to moving to Cat Ba via Dong Bai ferry - Cai Chieng, holidays 30.4, 1.5, visitors can choose to travel by cable car to save time, ticket price 50,000 VND/person/time. According to the Cat Hai District People's Committee, Cat Ba Sun Co., Ltd. adds 30 electric cars to take guests to the cable car, moving from the cable car to the center of Cat Ba tourist area. Particularly from April 18, 10 60 -seat electric cars running from Phu Long cable car station to Cat Ba and vice versa.
