On August 17, the People's Committee of Ha Huy Tap Ward (Ha Tinh Province) announced that it had just fined 21.5 million VND for 3 cases of animal trading for African swine fever and slaughter at private homes.
The authorities fined Mr. Nguyen Van Bo (born in 1982, residing in Minh Dinh Residential Area) 7.5 million VND and Mr. Nguyen Van Tung (born in 1973, residing in TDP 17. 7 million VND for slaughtering livestock at their home, not bringing them to the centralized slaughterhouse as prescribed.
The Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, Smuggling and Environment of Ha Tinh Provincial Police also fined Mr. Nguyen Khac Thong (born in 1985, residing in Tan Van village, Dong Tien commune) 7 million VND for buying and selling 3 pigs with African swine fever. These pigs were discovered when Mr. Thong transported them in Thach Lac commune.
The authorities affirmed that they will strengthen inspection and strict handling to prevent the spread of the epidemic and ensure food safety.
