On October 9, Vietnam Social Security said that through the process of monitoring in cyberspace, Vietnam Social Security discovered a fake website with a domain name, interface, and image similar to the Vietnam Social Security Online Public Service Portal, causing confusion, and could be used to commit fraud and steal personal information.
Through inspection, it was found that the fake website had an address baohiemxahoi[. ]biz places servers abroad to avoid management by state agencies as well as make it difficult to trace.
This website can be used to impersonate social insurance officers to send links to the website requesting the provision of personal information such as citizen identification cards, health insurance cards, etc. to commit fraud, steal information, and appropriate property.
Also in the recent past, there have been many forms of fake Vietnam Social Insurance such as impersonating officials to call, contact people or fake documents to lure people to access fake websites, provide personal information as well as appropriate property.
To promptly prevent violations of the law, ensure the safety of assets and personal information of people and businesses and avoid affecting and losing trust in online public services of state agencies, Vietnam Social Insurance is coordinating with functional units to trace and identify the above fake websites.
Instructions for identifying the Online Public Service Portal of Vietnam Social Insurance
While the authorities on information security handle and block information, to avoid confusing people and businesses leading to fraud victims, causing unfortunate consequences, the IT Center recommends that communication units warn against fake websites and provide guidance on identifying the Social Insurance Public Service Portal as follows:
- The online public service portal of Vietnam Social Insurance only has one domain name and address: https://dichvucong.baohiemxahoi.gov.vn/, in the domain name structure with .GOV.VN for state agencies (Vietnam Social Insurance does not use the domain name with the structure of .COM.VN, .COM, .ME... used by the fake website).
- The Vietnam Social Insurance Public Service Portal is labeled with a network trust certificate issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications at the bottom of the page, looking up information at https://tinnhiemmang.vn/danh-ba-tin-nhiem/.
- The Vietnam Social Insurance Public Service Portal uses the GlobalSign international security certificate, the information on the issued digital certificate includes the content "CN = * *baohiemxahoi.gov.vn, O = Vietnam Social Insurance".
