Heavy rain in recent days has caused many key roads in Quang Ngai to be severely eroded, causing traffic congestion. On the evening of October 26, on National Highway 24C, the section passing through Tay Tra Bong commune, there were 3 large landslides, with hundreds of cubic meters of rock and soil overflowing, burying the entire road surface, causing local isolation in some areas.

In Thanh Bong commune, heavy rain caused landslides at Ta Mo stream (Mo village) and on National Highway 24C. A large amount of rock and soil fell onto the road, causing traffic congestion. The People's Committee of the commune has put up warning signs, restricted people's travel, and mobilized forces to overcome the situation. On the morning of October 27, speaking with reporters, the leader of Thanh Bong Commune People's Committee said that National Highway 24C through the commune has been reopened.
In Tra Ai village, Thanh Bong commune, some landslides occurred near residential areas, seriously affecting people's houses. The authorities have evacuated households in the danger zone, and warned people to limit travel through areas at risk of landslides.
In the west of Quang Ngai province, due to prolonged heavy rain, water from upstream poured in quickly, causing the stream water level to rise, endangering people. Faced with the above situation, the Dak P'lo commune government has urgently organized the evacuation of 26 households with 116 people in Bung Ton village to temporarily stay at the homes of relatives and people in the village to ensure safety of life.
Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak P'lo commune - said that the locality has completed the evacuation of people from dangerous areas, and mobilized forces to be on duty 24/7 in areas at risk of landslides and flash floods to promptly respond when situations arise.
According to the report of the Irrigation Sub-Department under the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ngai province, there is currently heavy to very heavy rain in the province.
From the afternoon of October 26 to October 29, a flood occurred on the rivers in the province. During this flood, the possibility of flood peaks on Tra Bong, Tra Cau, Ve and Po Ko rivers ranging from alert level 2 to alert level 3, upstream of Dak Bla and Tra Khuc rivers ranging from alert level 2 to above alert level 2. The peak flood occurred on the night of October 26 to October 27.
