On July 16, Vinh Linh Regional General Hospital (Quang Tri province) confirmed that doctors and nurses at the unit are actively taking care of a mother and baby after a special birth right in a taxi.
Previously, at about 7:10 am on July 15, when doctors and nurses of the Obstetrics Department of Vinh Linh Regional General Hospital were holding an early hour handover meeting, they received urgent information. Accordingly, Ms. L.T. M. L (born in 1989, residing in Ben Quan commune, Quang Tri province) showed signs of labor and was on her way to the hospital by taxi for emergency treatment.
However, when the taxi just managed to move into the hospital grounds, the woman immediately showed signs of giving birth, not having time to move into the delivery room.
Recognizing the emergency situation, the doctors and nurses of the Obstetrics Department immediately brought necessary medical equipment and quickly approached the taxi parked in the hospital yard. Here, the on-duty team carried out professional measures, supporting the delivery for the pregnant woman right on the taxi seat.
Just a few minutes of focusing on responding, a baby girl weighing 3.2kg was safely born in the joy of the family and doctors.
Immediately after the delivery in a taxi was successful, both the mother and the baby were cut the umbilical cord by the on-duty team, performed initial medical care steps and then transferred to the hospital's specialized room for continued monitoring. Currently, the health of both pregnant woman L.T. M. L and the baby is stable.
