The 36R-004XX semi-vehicle was last inspected at the 36-12D center on January 26, 2024, and the inspection deadline is January 25, 2025.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that a catastrophic accident occurred on National Highway 6 through Yen Chau District, killing 6 people and injuring 4 others.
The accident occurred at 11:30 p.m. on February 21 at Km 235+100, National Highway 6, passing through Sap Vat commune, Yen Chau district.
At this time, the passenger bus with license plate 26F-009.XX was driven by Mr. N.D.H. (born in 1983, residing in Phu Luu Te, My Duc, Hanoi) was driving in the direction of Son La - Hanoi, when reaching the above route, he collided with a tractor-trailer with license plate 30C-095.XX driven by Mr. D.X.T in the opposite direction.
At the scene, the strong collision caused the left wall of the sleeper bus to tear into large pieces, many passengers were thrown unconscious onto the road, and others were injured.
The front of the passenger bus was crushed, causing the driver and the bus assistant to be trapped in the cabin.
The strong impact caused about 5-6 passengers to fall onto the road unconscious. Many others were injured when debris from the sides and sleeper cabin hit them.
The surviving passengers and passersby spent several dozen minutes using a beng saw to break the cabin to get the victims out.
According to initial information, the accident killed 6 people, including 5 passengers on the bus and the tractor-trailer driver.
In addition, 4 other victims were injured and two cars were severely damaged.
The preliminary cause was determined to be that the bus driver went to the curve and encountered a slippery road due to rain, leading to loss of speed control. The rear of the passenger bus was thrown at the front of the tractor-trailer in the opposite direction.
The bus driver did not have alcohol concentration and was negative for drugs. The accident is currently being investigated and clarified by the Son La Provincial Police. The professional unit of the Ministry of Public Security sent a working group to the scene to coordinate in handling the incident.
