A recent gathering of Ferrari owners in Ho Chi Minh City attracted special attention from car enthusiasts, when a series of supercars with the "swallow horse" symbol simultaneously appeared in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the records, this is a year-end meeting of Ferrari owners. The number of participating cars is significant, most of which are Ferrari 296 models - a car line that is popular with many domestic customers and is considered Ferrari's main car model in the Vietnamese market recently.
In the Ferrari 296 fleet appearing at the event, the two versions 296 GTB and 296 GTS dominated. The biggest difference between these two variants lies in the roof design. While the 296 GTB has a fixed hardtop with a strong sports coupe style, the 296 GTS is equipped with a flexible hardtop that can be closed and unlocked, bringing a more diverse experience to the rider.
The Ferrari 296 GTS uses a three-part hardtop system that can be turned on or off in about 14 seconds. When the roof is closed, the car still retains its typical sporty appearance, while in open-top mode, this supercar brings a luxurious driving feeling, suitable for urban walking journeys.
In terms of power, the Ferrari 296 is the second supercar model of the company equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, after the SF90. The vehicle uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, combined with an electric motor, for a total capacity of up to 819 horsepower. The 7.45 kWh lithium-ion battery allows the vehicle to move purely electrically over a distance of about 25 km, meeting the need for flexible operation in urban environments.
With the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and a maximum speed exceeding 330 km/h, Ferrari 296 continues to affirm its position as a high-performance hybrid supercar, while meeting the needs for speed experience and convenience in daily use.
