According to the new draft, the roadmap for applying emission standards is as follows:
From July 1, 2027 for Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
From July 1, 2028 for the remaining provinces and centrally-run cities.
From July 1, 2030 for the remaining provinces and cities. Depending on the actual situation, these provinces and cities can regulate the application of the deadline earlier.
Commenting on the roadmap for motorbike emissions, Da Nang province proposed to add regulations on policies to support people with vehicles that do not meet emission standards. Typically: policies to recall old vehicles and change new vehicles; low interest rate lending incentives to buy electric vehicles and environmentally friendly vehicles. Develop a plan and a national communication program in parallel to raise public awareness of air pollution and the role of emission control.
Encourage People's Committees of provinces and cities with high air pollution levels to proactively apply early implementation roadmaps
