On April 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department (PC08) reported the results of inspection and handling of acts that did not obey the order of traffic lights and road markings; Drive the car on the sidewalk.
According to PC08 room, Decree No. 168/2024/ND-CP stipulates sanctioning administrative violations on traffic order and safety in the field of road traffic; Deducting points, restoring the driver's license point effective from 1.1.2025 has had a clear impact on the situation of traffic order and safety (traffic safety) in Ho Chi Minh City, creating deterrence and reminders for violations of traffic safety.
However, from the fact that the work shows that, besides the positive effects and clear changes in the consciousness of the traffic participants, there is also a small part of people participating in subjective traffic, driving cars according to habits, failing to comply with the provisions of the law on traffic safety, increasing the possibility of traffic accidents, traffic congestion in the city.
Through inspection and handling, in the first quarter of 2025, the City Traffic Police force made a record of 947 cases of not obeying the order of traffic lights and road markings; 1,069 cases of driving a vehicle on the sidewalk (except for operating the vehicle through the sidewalk to enter the house and agency).
The PC08 room recommends that when people participating in road traffic, the section near the intersection, the driver of the vehicle must proactively reduce the speed, pay attention to observing traffic lights. The acceleration to pass the yellow light or the red light will put the driver in situations that can lead to traffic accidents.
In addition, when traveling at the time of the density of vehicles participating in the crowded traffic, the driver of the vehicle is absolutely not allowed to go on the sidewalk, the curb because this is the moving road of the pedestrian.
