A new Honda S2000 has recently been recorded appearing on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, attracting attention thanks to its different appearance with many modified details in a sporty style.
Compared to the original, the car is equipped with large 5-spoke rims, a large rear spoiler and some changes in the lighting system and rear bumper, creating a more powerful appearance. This is one of the very few Honda S2000s currently in operation in Vietnam.
Honda S2000 was first launched in 1999 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Japanese automaker. The two-seater roadster quickly made a mark thanks to its convertible design, flexible operation and high-turn rate naturally aspirated engine.
After two generations of products, Honda officially stopped producing the S2000 in 2009. Since then, this model has gradually become a choice sought after by collectors and sports car enthusiasts. The Honda S2000 also appeared in the "Fast & Furious" series, contributing to creating attraction for the car-loving community worldwide.
The car that appeared in Ho Chi Minh City belongs to the 2003 model year of the first generation (AP1). The car has dimensions of 4,120 mm long, 1,750 mm wide, 1,285 mm high and 2,400 mm wheelbase.
In addition to large rims and spoilers, the car is also supplemented with LED daytime running lights, changed rear lights and used a rectangular exhaust cluster instead of the original round design, bringing a more modern and personal look.
In terms of operation, the first generation Honda S2000 uses a 4-cylinder DOHC 2.0L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 237-247 horsepower and a maximum torque of 208-218 Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear axle through a 6-speed manual transmission - a configuration loved by many people for bringing a pure driving feeling.
Although it has been discontinued for more than 15 years, the Honda S2000 is still considered one of Honda's iconic sports cars. The appearance of this model on the streets of Vietnam always attracts the attention of the car-loving community, especially when the number of cars remaining is not large.
