Accordingly, the Ministry of Transport is drafting the National Technical Regulation on automobiles, trailers, and semi-trailers participating in road traffic. The regulation is expected to take effect from January 1, 2025.
Regarding the standards for vehicle inspection, mounting brackets and spare wheels as follows:
Wheel standards
The inspection method is observation combined with using a hammer; use a tire pressure gauge if there is suspicion that the tire pressure does not meet the manufacturer's regulations.
Regarding evaluation criteria, the following conditions must be met:
Correct number of tires, tire size as specified by manufacturer, technical documents.
Firmly installed, complete, tight clamping details, loose room without damage.
Rims and brake rings are not cracked, chipped or warped.
Tires are not cracked, broken, blistered, or exposed to the ply.
The tires on both guide wheels must have the same tread pattern, retreaded tires may not be used.
Tire wear has not reached the manufacturer's indicator mark.
The standard for mounting bracket and spare wheel is as follows:
The testing method is observation combined with hand shaking.
Evaluation criteria are as follows:
The mounting bracket is not cracked or broken, and is firmly installed.
Full spare wheel as specified by the manufacturer.
Thus, tires that do not meet the above standards will not be inspected from January 1, 2025. People need to pay attention to vehicle maintenance to ensure safety and meet inspection standards.
