According to Aston Martin, the company has been developing the Valkyrie model for the past 3 years and will soon launch it on the market. To prove the car's ability, Aston Martin has tested it on the Silverstone track - one of the most famous races in the world.
With a racetime of 1 minute 56.42 seconds, the Valkyrie easily surpassed the record of 2 minutes 06.83 seconds set by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS by Manthey Racing. The time of the Valkyrie model is also nearly 2 seconds faster than the record set in 2019 of 1 minute 58.165 seconds with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 on flat tires.
"I'm not sure what else we could have done, but maybe on a better day, we could have done better," said Le Mans Darren tourist - the driver of the Valkyrie.
Notably, when Aston Martin began developing the Valkyrie, the company claimed that the model would be as fast as a Formula 1 car. However, with the current results, the Valkyrie model is still far behind the F1 record at Silverstone of 1 minute 27.097 seconds set in 2020.
However, with the current time, the commercial Aston Martin Valkyrie line has established a quite impressive record for cars in the same segment.
