The new-generation Palisade model received the third largest number of orders on the launch day among Hyundai-made models. First is the Ioniq 6 SUV with 37,446 units in 2022 and second is the 4th generation Kia Carnival with 36,455 units in 2023. This number has exceeded the orders of the first Palisade version in 2018 by more than 1.5 times.
According to the company, this is the first comprehensive change of Palisade in 6 years, with the addition of a hybrid variation and the first 9-seat option. Among the customers who ordered, about 40% chose the 9-seat version, the remaining 60% chose the high-end Calligraphy version.
The hybrid Palisade model has lower maintenance costs, better fuel economy than the gasoline version, and is more expensive at 6 million won (about 86 million VND). Hyundai emphasizes that the new-generation Palisade is the first car in its product line to adopt the next-generation hybrid system and Turbo Hybrid 2.5, to meet the increased demand for hybrid cars. The Palisade Turbo Hybrid 2.5 is expected to provide a total engine capacity of up to 334 horsepower, for an operating range of more than 1,000 km with just a fuel tank.
In addition, this SUV applies an optimal battery charging mode to maximize the use of electricity - available for the first time on Hyundai's hybrid line. This allows drivers to enjoy air conditioning, entertainment systems and other features even when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is turned off, similar to an electric vehicle.
The new Palisade has up to 12 different versions from Turbo 2.5 to Turbo Hybrid 2.5, with options including Exclusive, Prestige and Calligraphy with a 7- or 9-seat option. The new model has a starting price of 43.8 million won (about 763 million VND).
Hyundai will start delivering the Turbo 2.5 in January 2025. The hybrid version will be delivered to customers in mid-2025, after receiving low-carbon certification from the Korean Ministry of Environment.
