Many electric vehicle models have reduced prices when tightening motorbike emission inspection

In the context of tightening inspection of motorbike emissions, many electric vehicle models have been launched on the market at attractive prices.

Electric vehicle conversion trend

The Vietnamese electric motorbike market is witnessing a strong wave of price reductions, especially when regulations to tighten motorbike emission inspection are proposed and discussed in many large cities.

In the context of gasoline vehicles facing the risk of limited circulation, consumers are increasingly interested in electric vehicles with more affordable prices, low usage costs and environmentally friendly operation.

In less than two months, a series of automakers have launched in-depth promotional programs, focusing on electric motorbikes for students and commuters in urban areas.

The most prominent of which is Yamaha's price adjustment strategy with the NEO's electric vehicle model, a product that was not highly appreciated for its competitiveness due to high selling prices and limited range of activities.

Along with Yamaha, many motorbike manufacturers are starting to pay attention to this market. The Honda ICON e: electric motorbike model was officially launched and the selling price was announced from April 2025.

Set prices and specifications of some outstanding models

Among the electric motorbike models that are being heavily discounted, Yamaha NEO's is a notable representative. This product has a neat, modern design, suitable for urban areas.

The vehicle is equipped with a tray containing 2 lithium-ion batteries, each battery allows traveling about 72km. When fully equipped with 2 batteries, the operating range can reach 144km.

However, the downside of the vehicle is the long charging time, up to 8 hours each time. However, the new price of only about 34 million VND and the spare battery set have helped to significantly improve competitiveness.

Meanwhile, Honda ICON e: a car model that was just launched on the market in early April, chose a low-priced "asearance" strategy.

With a selling price ranging from 26.9 to 27.3 million VND (including value added tax), ICON e: targeted at high school students, who travel a lot but require simple operation and reasonable costs. Although not strong in long distance, the car scores points for its youthful design, rich color and basic amenities to meet daily needs.

In addition to electric vehicles imported from Japan, the car market also has notable products. A typical example is Dibao - an electric motorbike brand that has been present in Vietnam for more than a decade.

The Dibao Pansy XS1 Neo Pro model is currently being sold at a promotional price of about 20,990,000 VND, excluding registration fees. This car line stands out thanks to its classic Vespa- inspired design, equipped with large LED bulbs, electronic watches combined with analog, wide trunks and high-end saddles imported from Taiwan (China).

The XS1 bodybuilding system weighs 82kg, the seat height is 760mm - suitable for Vietnamese people, including high school students. The vehicle uses 90/90-10 tires that do not lack tires, help to stick to the road well, the engine is smooth, and fuel-efficient with a consumption of only 1.7 liters/100km (for the 50cc gasoline version).

The electric version of this line also has a similar design, suitable for first-time motorbike drivers or those without an A1 driver's license.
