The motorbike market fluctuates
The motorbike market is entering a period of stagnation, especially in the scooter segment, which is popular in large cities.
According to a reporter's survey at a number of Honda dealers in Hanoi, many of the company's scooter models are being adjusted in price, some versions are even sold at a lower price than the suggested price.
According to the explanation of some store owners, the main reason for the decrease in motorbikes' prices comes from weak purchasing power, consumers tighten spending in the context of the economy not fully recovering.
To stimulate demand, agents are forced to reduce prices and incentives such as reducing registration fees, giving helmets or supporting installments. The discount trend is not only happening in popular segments such as Honda Vision, Lead or Air Blade but also spreading to high-end models such as SH, SH Mode and SH350i.
Specifically, the Honda SH Mode model, a car line with a high listed price, is currently being sold for only about 4 million VND compared to the suggested price. The domestically assembled SH350i model currently has a dealer price of 2 to 3 million VND lower. Meanwhile, Air Blade and Lead also recorded a decrease of 12 million VND depending on the version.
Notably, Honda Vision, the top-selling model for many consecutive years, has also been slightly adjusted, although it is still 500 thousand to 1 million VND higher than the suggested price. This shows that even "hot" models are not out of the general downward spiral of the market.
However, traders also believe that the bearish trend is unlikely to last long, because the supply of imported components still depends on the international market. Buyers should take advantage of the current time if they have the intention to shop.
