Gasoline motorbike market cools down in mid-summer
After many months of keeping prices higher than the suggested price, a series of Honda motorbikes are being adjusted down by the dealer to nearly the price announced by the company.
Recorded at some dealers in the Hanoi area at the end of June 2025, the common reduction is from 500,000 to 2 million VND for popular scooters; model cars have slightly decreased; manual transmission cars alone have decreased by tens of millions of VND.
According to some dealers, this is the result of consumers tightening spending, especially after gasoline price adjustments, high living costs and tightened consumer credit.
A representative of a Honda dealer on Pham Van Dong Street, Hanoi shared: Since the beginning of June, scooter sales such as Vision, SH Mode, Vario have decreased by about 20%. To rotate capital, agents are forced to reduce selling prices, even selling lower than the suggested price".
Specifically, the Honda SH Mode model has always been "exorbitant", now reduced to about 60.5 million VND for the standard version, only about 2 million VND higher than the suggested price. Vision, the best-selling scooter model on the market, is currently being sold from 34.5 million VND for the standard version, less than 1 million VND higher than the suggested price. Notably, SH350i - Honda Vietnam's most premium car model - is being sold by dealers at a suggested price of about 3 million VND, a sharp decrease that has not been seen in recent years.
Most notably, the Winner X manual transmission motorbike - once criticized for being "odsided" - is currently being sold for only 4447 million VND, 10 million VND lower than the suggested price, depending on the region and version.
