These days, at the headquarters of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 - Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police, many motorbike drivers have come to contact to work after receiving notices of violating the fine.
Mr. P.M (21 years old, residing in Hanoi) was surprised to receive the notice and was fined for running a red light at the Ho Tung Mau - Pham Hung intersection. Mr. M. still thinks that only cars will be fined.
"When I ran the light, I didn't see any traffic police at the checkpoint, so I was subjective and it was okay. Before now, I have not heard of any information that motorbikes will be fined through a camera in Hanoi, Mr. M. explained.
At the police station, Mr. M. was shown all the images of the violation recorded by the camera.
For not complying with traffic light signals, the authorities fined Mr. M 5 million VND and deducted 4 points from his driver's license.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Truong Song Thanh - Captain of the Traffic Command and Traffic Light Control Team, Hanoi Traffic Police Department, the application of technical equipment, especially the surveillance camera system, in handling violations of traffic safety and order has been effective in recent times.
On average, the unit detects 500-700 violations per month through professional equipment.
"The cold fine not only helps raise awareness of traffic participants but also contributes to reducing the burden on the force patrolling directly at the scene," said Lieutenant Colonel Thanh.

However, the camera system is still limited in terms of monitoring scope.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Chien - Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 said that the advantage of the camera is its ability to cover and promptly record violations within a certain range, but the weakness is that it is fixed at some routes and nutts.
In places that have not been installed or when there are no authorities, many people still deliberately violate, causing disorder in traffic safety, Lieutenant Colonel Chien shared.
To overcome this, in recent days, Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 has increased its forces, using specialized recording equipment to control areas without surveillance camera systems. Thanks to that, many violations have been detected promptly, thereby improving handling efficiency, contributing to preventing traffic accidents.

In addition to handling through professional equipment, people who detect violations of traffic safety order can send recorded photos and video clips to the Zalo page "Hanoi Traffic Police Department" or call the hotline number 0243.942.4451 to report. The Traffic Police Department will receive, verify and handle it in accordance with legal regulations.
