On January 9, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province confirmed that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City had decided to spend 4 billion VND from the budget to support Quang Tri province.
This amount of money supports Quang Tri province to repair, restore, disassemble, transport and install the C-119 aircraft from Bien Hoa City (Dong Nai Province) to display at the Ta Con Airport National Monument (Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province).
Currently, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has assigned the provincial Department of Finance to contact the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance to provide information and receive the above support source. At the same time, the provincial Department of Finance will coordinate with the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advise the provincial People's Committee to allocate the above funding source.

Previously, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province had sent a document to the Ministry of National Defense requesting the C-119 aircraft, a type of large-scale war vehicle, upgraded from a transport function to a reconnaissance aircraft on the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh road. In mid-2016, the Ministry of National Defense agreed to provide the C-119 aircraft, class 5, serial number 53-7850 of the A41/QCPK-KQ Factory to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province as an exhibit.
After that, Quang Tri province planned to repair, restore, disassemble, and transport the C-119 aircraft to Ta Con Airport Relic. However, due to financial difficulties, the C-119 aircraft has not been brought back yet. With the support of 4 billion VND from Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Tri will contract with a unit to repair, restore, disassemble, and transport the C-119 aircraft to Quang Tri, then install and display it.
It is known that Ta Con Airport Relics was a strategic military base of the US army in the years 1966 - 1968, an important link of the Khe Sanh base group. This place is associated with the Khe Sanh liberation campaign in 1968, and was ranked as a national historical relic by the Ministry of Culture - Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1986. Currently, at Ta Con Airport Relics, there is a C-130 aircraft with serial number 532 handed over by Factory A41 of the Air Defense - Air Force in 2012.
The reception of C-119 aircraft number 53-7850 as an exhibit at the national relic of Ta Con Airport aims to recreate the historical space, creating a highlight to attract tourists to visit and travel to Quang Tri.
