According to the public announcement of the Traffic Police Department - Thai Binh Provincial Police on the list of cases of violations of the Road Traffic Law that were fined, in the two weeks from February 19 to February 25 and February 26 to April 4 in Thai Binh province, 91 vehicles were fined.
Of which, 13 vehicles violated traffic light signals (overtaking red lights), 78 vehicles violated speeding.
Notably, out of 13 vehicles recorded running red lights in the past two weeks, only trucks with Nam Dinh Provincial license plate 18C - 124.06 violated this violation up to 7 times (week from February 19 to 25 violated 5 times, week from February 26 to 4, continued to violate 2 times).
Accordingly, the results of the surveillance camera extraction of the authorities recorded that the truck with the license plate of Nam Dinh province 18C - 124.06 had violated traffic light signals at the same location, the intersection between the S1 bypass and provincial road DT.454 (Tan Binh intersection, Thai Binh City) 7 times.
The above behavior of the truck driver caused a stir and heated discussion on social networks in Thai Binh province in recent days. Many opinions say that it is possible that the truck has been sold or transferred by the owner to another person but has not yet carried out the procedures for transferring the name, changing the registration and inspection information. Some opinions say that drivers who rent or borrow a car, or for some reason do not know that their violation has been recorded by a camera and are fined, should carefully repeat the violation; there are even many opinions suspecting that the above truck has a fake license plate of another vehicle...
On March 6, speaking with Lao Dong reporter, a representative of the Traffic Police Department - Thai Binh Provincial Police said that up to now, the owner of a truck with license plate 18C - 124.06 according to the above information, to register and inspect the vehicle, has not come to contact the unit to resolve the fine.
"According to regulations, after compiling statistics on the number of violating vehicles of the week from February 19 to 25, we sent a notice to the owner of that vehicle to the unit's headquarters to resolve the matter and pay the fine, but they have not seen it yet. During the week from February 26 to March 4, through the surveillance camera system, it was discovered that this vehicle had violated the law twice more, still the same problem and still at the old violation site. In this situation, we have also reported to the unit's leaders to have a solution," said the representative of the Traffic Police Department - Thai Binh Provincial Police.
Regarding the fine for violations, according to the representative of the Traffic Police Department - Thai Binh Provincial Police, the driver of the above vehicle will be fined 7 times with the total fine for running a red light, up to nearly 140 million VND; the time the driver has his driving license revoked and the points deducted from the driving license are calculated once according to the highest additional fine for this violation.
According to the report of the Traffic Police Department - Thai Binh Provincial Police, after 2 months of implementing Decree No. 168/ND-CP of the Government, the authorities in the whole province have inspected, detected, and recorded 2,185 violations; fined over 8.9 billion VND; temporarily detained 674 vehicles; revoked 499 driving licenses; deducted points from 640 cases. Of which, 530 cases violated alcohol concentration, fined over 3.1 billion VND; 887 cases violated speed, fined over 4 billion VND.
One of the most obvious changes is that in the first 2 months of implementing Decree No. 168/ND-CP, the traffic accident situation was well controlled, greatly reduced in all 3 criteria. The whole Thai Binh province had 33 cases, killing 19 people and injuring 19 people; compared to the previous period, there were 13 fewer cases, 7 fewer deaths, 15 fewer injuries; compared to the same period in 2024, there were 25 fewer cases, 8 fewer deaths, and 20 fewer injuries.
