These concerns are completely grounded when in the past there have been traffic accidents directly related to driving practice cars when moving on highways where drivers need good skills and situation handling ability.
Recently, on April 19, a 5-seater car with a practice license plate moving on the right lane of the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway suddenly turned on the turn signal to switch to the left lane right in front of a tractor-trailer truck running at high speed.
Due to insufficient distance, the driving practice car collided with the front of a large truck and was crushed forward. The driving practice car was heavily damaged, fortunately no one was seriously injured.
On the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway in recent years, there have also been many traffic accidents between training vehicles driven by trainees and other vehicles.
Meanwhile, on the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway, which is more than 40km long, the situation of driving practice cars moving with high density also worries many people because this is a expressway with 4 lanes, narrow road surface and no parallel emergency stop lanes.
According to PV's records, on average, every day there are hundreds of vehicles with license plates of driving practice vehicles of units such as Hung Vuong Vocational Education and Driver Training Center (Phu Tho province), Viet Nhat Technology Secondary School (Tuyen Quang province) moving on both directions of Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway.
At some times, vehicles lined up to run in the left lane where the maximum speed allowed is up to 90km/h. Even driving practice cars lined up horizontally moving on the highway, obstructing the traffic of other vehicles.
Mr. Tran Duc Anh - driver of the Ha Giang - Hanoi route said: "Many times I ask to overtake, honk the horn for a long time, but the driving practice cars do not give way, I don't understand because I didn't hear or didn't understand the law. Driving practice cars running densely on the highway like this is very dangerous.
According to Colonel Pham Quang Huy - Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department, it is necessary to strictly manage training vehicles entering the expressway. If entering, learners need to ensure sufficient conditions, and learn to what level to enter.
Although there are driving instructors accompanying trainees on all driving practice vehicles and there are no regulations prohibiting driving practice vehicles from entering highways, when moving at high speed on highways, the driver's experience and situation handling skills are required.
Most students do not have this, while the awareness of complying with traffic laws of both teachers is still not high.
