According to the Traffic Police Department (Khanh Hoa Provincial Police), recently, on main roads in Nha Trang such as Tran Phu and Le Hong Phong, the situation of cars not complying with lane regulations has become common, posing a potential risk of causing congestion and accidents.
According to regulations, each direction of the road has two lanes: The left lane is for motor vehicles, the right lane is for motorbikes and rudimentary vehicles.
However, in reality, many cars, taxis, and technology vehicles still often move or park right in the lane for motorbikes, causing motorbike and motorbike riders to weave and potentially collide.
At key intersections, non-compliance with traffic signs is also common.
Many cars turned left and turned around at places with prohibited signs such as Tran Phu - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai intersection or Le Hong Phong - Road No. 13 (Ha Quang 1 Urban Area), causing congestion and frustration for traffic participants.
For pedestrians, the authorities remind them to walk on the correct section of the road, only cross the road where there are traffic lights, road markings, or overpasses, pedestrian tunnels; absolutely do not cross the road arbitrarily.
The Traffic Police Department said it is increasing patrols and handling violations, especially fines via videos and images provided by people.
Drivers, especially taxis and technology vehicles, are often reminded to follow the correct lane and not stop for arbitrary parking.
According to Article 13 of the Law on Road Traffic Safety, vehicles must go in the correct lane, not change lanes arbitrarily; motor vehicles must go in the left lane, rudimentary vehicles must go in the right lane.
Decree 168/2024/ND-CP also stipulates a fine of 4 to 6 million VND, deducting 2 points from the driver's license for driving in the wrong lane, encroaching on the lane or driving in the wrong part of the road.
The authorities recommend that people raise their awareness of obeying the law, not encroaching on lanes, stopping and parking in violation of regulations to ensure traffic safety.
