On July 15, the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward organized a special reward for individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in the movement of All People Protecting National Security.
Among them, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen (43 years old), captain, working at the Naval Academy, was rewarded for picking up lost property and returning it to the owner.
Previously, at around 11am on July 4, while walking on the road, Ms. Yen discovered a brown leather wallet lying on the sidewalk. Inside were nearly 80 million VND (including Vietnamese currency and USD) along with many personal documents in the name of foreigners.
After that, Ms. Yen brought the wallet to Nam Nha Trang Ward Police to hand over and asked for help finding the owner of the property.
At around 2:00 p.m. the same day, the police verified and contacted Mr. Rystaev Ilgis (31 years old, Kyrgyz nationality), currently living and working in Nha Trang.
At the ceremony, the Ward People's Committee also commended the Crime Prevention Police team for quickly verifying and coordinating the return of assets to foreigners.
Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - Chairman of Nam Nha Trang Ward People's Committee said that Ms. Yen's beautiful actions not only spread the good traditions of the Vietnamese people but also contributed to building a beautiful image of the people of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in the eyes of international friends.
