Lieutenant Colonel Pham Anh Tuan - Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 (under the Traffic Police Department of Ninh Binh Provincial Police) said that on the afternoon of October 22, Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 coordinated with Nam Hoa Lu Ward Police and local authorities to clear encroachment cases under the Ninh Phong overpass.
"The authorities have disseminated information to households to dismantle and move their belongings and assets out of the bridge underpass area. At the same time, households here have also signed a commitment not to repeat the offense" - Lieutenant Colonel Pham Anh Tuan said.
Speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Cao Son - Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee said that the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document requesting departments, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards in the province to review and handle parking lots under bridges and roadways.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of communes, wards and related agencies and units according to assigned functions and tasks, to organize the review of regulations on management, operation, exploitation, maintenance and protection of road infrastructure in the province.
At the same time, strengthen inspection work to promptly detect and prevent acts of encroachment, use, and illegal construction within the scope of road infrastructure protection, especially underpass areas to ensure traffic safety and order.
Organize propaganda and disseminate to local people to grasp the provisions of the law on the protection of road traffic infrastructure, especially prohibited acts.
Regularly inspect and review violations related to encroachment, occupation, illegal use and construction within the scope of road infrastructure protection, violations of fire prevention and fighting regulations and cases of illegal use of bridge and road underpasses as parking lots within the management area.
"The Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards are responsible to the Provincial People's Committee and before the law if there are any violations of using bridge and road bridges as parking lots, causing unsafety for road works" - Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son said.
