On November 13, Mr. Cam Van Huy - Chairman of Quynh Nhai District People's Committee said that immediately after Lao Dong Newspaper's reflection on the shortcomings of the Sidewalk Renovation Project, the leaders of the District People's Committee directed the investor and contractor to urgently overcome the shortcomings.
"The leaders of the District People's Committee also directly went to the construction site to inspect and direct the remedial work," Mr. Huy informed.
On the same day, speaking to reporters, Mr. Pham Van Lam, Director of the Quynh Nhai District Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: "Currently, the Board is directing construction contractors to coordinate urgent repairs, expected to be completed today (November 13).

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article reflecting on some shortcomings in the sidewalk renovation project in the center of Quynh Nhai district before the event of the district receiving the title of New Rural standard.
The project has a total length of about 4.2 km.
The project was decided to be invested by the District People's Committee and assigned to the Quynh Nhai District Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor with a total value of 20 billion VND, with a joint venture of Luy Lan Company Limited and Minh Chau Son La Company Limited as the construction contractor.

According to the reporter's records, the project is being constructed from the roundabout at the foot of the District People's Committee slope to the Quynh Nhai District welcome gate, however, many problems have been revealed.
Surveying along the route, observing with the naked eye, it is not difficult to see that in some places the paved sidewalk has cracked and sunk. Many areas have uneven brick rows, completely losing the joints between the paving stones.

In the construction area, the contractor has mobilized a large number of workers. However, during the construction process, there are signs of unsafe conditions. Piles of bricks, stones, and construction materials are brazenly piled on the road, blocking the way for people to walk.
Even some sewer locations with a length of 1 meter and a width of about 60 cm have had their manhole covers removed, but there are no ropes or warning signs, like a trap for passersby.
Explaining the cause of the above problems, the representative of the construction contractor said that the subsidence as reported in the newspaper was caused by a truck from another unit entering and causing damage.
