On March 29, Ea H'leo Medical Center (Dak Lak province) said that the unit has received and is treating dozens of patients suspected of food poisoning.
According to initial information, at about 4 pm on March 28, Ea H'leo Medical Center received the first patient with symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, suspected of food poisoning.
After that, this unit continuously received dozens of other cases with similar symptoms. A total of 32 people were hospitalized; all said they had eaten bread at Q.H store (Ea Drang commune) before the symptoms of severe abdominal pain appeared. Ea H'leo Medical Center reported the incident to the Dak Lak Department of Health.
Currently, the health of patients being treated at the center is temporarily stable. However, doctors continue to monitor closely and so far no cases have been discharged.
Ea Drang Commune People's Committee has established an inspection team, temporarily suspending the business operation of Q.H bread establishment, and at the same time waiting for test results to have a basis for handling according to regulations.
Local health forces also proposed that the Department of Health direct departments and related units to implement contents related to food poisoning cases, and work on food poisoning prevention in localities. Including places such as: collective kitchens, water sources or other related factors.
