On June 26, the City People's Committee issued Official Letter No. 3749/UBND-TTDLCNS on checking information reflecting the widespread illegal construction of works in Thien Son - Suoi Nga Tourist Area in Ba Vi National Park.
According to the reflection, construction activities in this area take place on a large scale, with a time when there are 80-80,000 machines and dozens of workers working day and night. From above, looking down, many green forests have been destroyed, peeling, exposing all the soil and rocks, causing serious damage to the special-use forest environment.
Faced with this situation, the Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Ba Vi district to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and related units to urgently inspect, clarify information reflecting and strictly handle violations (if any); report to the City People's Committee before June 30, 2025.
Then, on June 27, the City People's Committee continued to issue Official Letter No. 3769/UBND-TTDLCNS on inspecting the situation of land leveling and improvement in the Ba Vanh hill area, Yen Bai commune, Ba Vi district. Recorded on June 22, this area is like a "workshop" with at least 5 bulldozers and excavators operating busily, about 20,000m2 of hill has been plowed, flattened, and trees are falling all over.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently inspect and clarify information reflecting and strictly handle violations (if any); report to the City People's Committee before July 5, 2025.
