On October 17, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Abandoned schools become places to raise pigs in Nam Dinh", reflecting on the fact that many schools and village cultural houses in Phuong Dinh commune (Truc Ninh district, Nam Dinh province) were abandoned, overgrown with grass, and even turned into places to raise pigs.
Based on the information reported by the Newspaper, the Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee assigned the Standing Committee of the Truc Ninh District Party Committee to conduct an inspection and report on the waste of public land, abandonment for many years, and serious deterioration of works at the Cooperative and Phuong Dinh Secondary School.
On November 1, Truc Ninh District People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 482/BC-UBND reporting on the inspection and review.
Regarding the area of the old Phuong Dinh Secondary School turned into a pig farm, previously, on September 11, due to the impact of storm No. 3 and rising flood waters on the Ninh Co River, some households outside the dike had to evacuate people and property to avoid the risk. Mr. Nguyen Van D (a citizen of Phuong Dinh Commune), currently working as a security guard at Phuong Dinh Primary School, bought 17 pigs from households outside the dike and temporarily released them at the old Phuong Dinh Secondary School area (formerly Truc Dinh Agricultural Cooperative).
On October 23, immediately after receiving the feedback, Phuong Dinh Commune People's Committee requested Mr. D to move the pigs from the area and make a record of the current situation, Mr. D complied.
As for the kindergarten area, the old Truc Dinh Kindergarten will be renovated, repaired and converted into the headquarters of the Phuong Dinh Commune Military Command and a place for mobile militia to eat and rest when performing their duties.
For the cultural house of Lo Xuyen 2 village (formerly the cultural house of Dai Thang 4 village), Phuong Dinh Commune People's Committee directed Lo Xuyen 2 village to mobilize people to clean it and make it a place for physical exercise.
