Mobilizing forces to collect garbage
After Lao Dong Newspaper published an article reflecting the situation of construction waste accumulating under the lake surrounding the special national relic Quang Tri Citadel (Quang Tri ward, Quang Tri province), the project investor, the Project Management Board for Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Construction Investment of Quang Tri province, directed construction units to urgently overcome it.

At the time of deploying the collection work, the water level in the Citadel Lake of Quang Tri had risen. To handle it, contractors mobilized manpower to wade into the lake to collect soil, rocks, and waste, and at the same time arranged cranes on the shore to lift garbage bags and mud onto specialized vehicles to transport for treatment.
The lake surrounding the four sides of the special national relic Quang Tri Citadel plays an important role in creating a cultural landscape and spiritual space. The appearance of concrete slabs and excess materials under the lake after the embankment construction process has affected the aesthetics of the relic site.

However, actual records show that the lake area right in front of the main gate leading to Quang Tri Citadel has not been completely cleaned up. Under the water, pieces of concrete and many types of construction waste are still present and have not been thoroughly collected.
Ready to discharge water for cleaning
Explaining this issue, Mr. Truong Huu Hieu - Deputy Director of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works of Quang Tri province said that at the time of cleaning, the lake water level had risen. Especially at the position in front of the ancient Citadel gate, the water was deep, so cleaning could not be carried out immediately.

Mr. Hieu affirmed that the unit will proactively coordinate with the Management Board of the Le Duan General Secretary Memorial Area and Quang Tri Citadel to handle it thoroughly. As soon as the water level in the lake drops, the investor will request the contractor to collect all remaining construction waste.

On the side of the relic management unit, Ms. Cap Thi Thien Trang - Head of the Relic Management Board of the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Area and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel informed that on the occasion of the 27th anniversary, the relic welcomed a large number of tourists to visit and express gratitude. Therefore, the unit has offered water to the lake to plant lotus, and at the same time filled in the types of waste generated after the embankment construction process.
After the holiday, the Relic Management Board hopes that the investor and construction units will pay attention and clean up all the garbage to restore the landscape to the relic. Ms. Trang emphasized that the unit is ready to discharge some water from the lake to a low level to create favorable conditions for contractors to clean up all construction waste and hopes that this will happen quickly.
