On June 4, a representative of the Dong Hoa Town Medical Center (Phu Yen) said that the Center is treating 7 cases of suspected food poisoning after eating snail buffet at P.D.V restaurant, branch 3 on Hung Vuong Street (Ward 7, Tuy Hoa City).
"The patients were admitted to the emergency room on the morning of June 3 with abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. After being actively treated by doctors, the health of the 7 patients has stabilized, are gradually recovering, and are expected to be discharged after 3-5 days," he said.
Treated in the Infectious Diseases Department, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van (35 years old, residing in Hoa Vinh Ward, Dong Hoa Town) shared that after watching Tiktoker's review video with the account T.D.P.Y, on the evening of June 2, she and her family went to eat snail buffet at P.D.V.
"My family has 7 members, 2 of whom do not eat. At around 9pm the same day, I started to have a sharp abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea continuously, and had to take resistance medicine. The next morning, he fainted and was taken to the emergency room. The remaining people also had similar symptoms but were more mild," Ms. Van recounted.
Also believing the review of Tiktoker with account H.H.H, on the afternoon of June 2, Ms. Truong Thi Bang Tam (41 years old, residing in Hoa Hiep Trung ward, Dong Hoa town) and her family of 11 went to P.D.V restaurant to have snail buffet, for 140,000 VND/person, including drinking water.
"There were 11 people going but only 9 people ate. At around 9pm, many people started vomiting, diarrhea, and severe abdominal pain. Some people have to go to medical centers for treatment, while the rest buy medicine to take at home," said Ms. Tam.
On the afternoon of June 4, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of the Phu Yen Provincial Department of Health said that he would direct the inspection and verification of information related to the case of many people suspected of food poisoning after eating snail buffet at P.D.V. restaurant.
The leader of Ward 7 People's Committee confirmed that after receiving information that many people had vomiting and abdominal pain after eating at P.D.V restaurant in the area, the locality coordinated with Tuy Hoa City Medical Center to verify the incident.
