The Ministry of Health has just sent a document to heads of units under the Ministry of Health; Departments of Health of provinces and centrally run cities on strengthening occupational safety and hygiene, health care, and disease prevention for employees in the health sector.
According to the Ministry of Health, implementing Clause 1, Article 43 of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment No. 15/2023/QH15 dated January 9, 2023, regulating the right to ensure safety when practicing medical examination and treatment "Ensured occupational safety and hygiene when working according to the provisions of the law on occupational safety and hygiene";
At the same time, implement Directive No. 31-CT/TW dated March 19, 2024 of the Secretariat on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over occupational safety and hygiene in the new situation and Plan No. 27/KH-BYT dated January 7, 2025 of the Ministry of Health on implementing Directive No. 31-CT/TW;
At the same time, in order to overcome limitations and weaknesses, proactively strengthen the prevention and reduction of occupational accidents and diseases, ensure safety of life and health for health for health workers, the Ministry of Health requests the Directors of the Health Departments of provinces and centrally run cities, Heads of units under the Ministry of Health to focus on directing the consolidation of human resources, facilities, and equipment to meet the needs of health care and prevention of occupational diseases for health workers and workers in the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration.
Strengthen management, inspection, and urging the implementation of occupational safety, hygiene, health care, and disease prevention at medical facilities; direct the implementation of activities to improve working conditions;
Health check-ups before work, periodic health check-ups, occupational disease detection examinations; training on occupational safety and hygiene; proactively preventing occupational diseases, health care and restoring working capacity for medical staff who have had work-related accidents or occupational diseases.
Direct agencies, units, and medical examination and treatment facilities in the whole industry to effectively implement the work of developing occupational safety and hygiene plans and self-inspection plans for occupational safety and hygiene according to the attached instructions.
The Ministry of Health also requested units to coordinate with relevant agencies to effectively implement policies on labor protection, labor safety, occupational hygiene and disease prevention for workers. Especially the regime of feeding dangerous toxins in kind.
Organize annual preliminary and final reports; promptly commend and reward individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in occupational safety, hygiene and disease prevention, and strictly handle individuals and groups that do not comply with the law on occupational safety, hygiene and disease prevention.
The Ministry of Health requests that the Departments of Health and units in the sector, depending on their functions, tasks and powers, must develop a plan, seriously organize the implementation of strengthening occupational safety, hygiene, health care, and disease prevention for employees in the health sector; report the results to the Ministry of Health.
