Diabetes is currently one of the fastest growing non-communicable diseases globally. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), in 2021 the world had about 537 million adults with diabetes and this number is expected to increase to 643 million by 2030.
The disease not only affects blood sugar control but also increases the risk of cardiovascular, kidney, neurological, diabetic foot and many other metabolic disorders complications.

Scientific topics focus on issues of concern in current clinical practice, such as updating recommendations from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in 2026, the role of new treatment therapies in the management of type 2 diabetes, strategies to optimize insulin treatment, combination of hypoglycemic drugs, post-feeding blood sugar control as well as solutions to protect cardiovascular, kidney and metabolic health for diabetic patients.

Notably, the conference dedicated a specialized session to comprehensive management of diabetic foot complications. Experts updated new advances in diabetic foot care, post-hospital management strategies, application of negative pressure aspiration therapy in wound treatment and multi-specialized care models to reduce the risk of severe complications, preserve limbs and improve the quality of life for patients.
