From April 17 to June 30, Hai Duong Lung Hospital coordinated with the National Anti-TB Program and the Medical Centers of Tu Ky, Binh Giang, and Cam Giang districts to organize a screening, proactive detection of tuberculosis and community tuberculosis prevention consultation for about 7,500 people.
The program is implemented in 50 communes and towns, focusing on high-risk groups and household contacts with lung patients. The subjects had a chest X-ray, Mantoux test, and GeneXpert test for cases with suspected tuberculosis. People diagnosed with tuberculosis or underlying tuberculosis will be treated and managed in accordance with regulations.
The new point in this year's examination is the combination of respiratory function measurement to detect early chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchial asthma, thereby improving the effectiveness of timely consultation and treatment.
According to Hai Duong Lung Hospital, up to now, the National Anti-Labration Program is managing the treatment of 526 patients with tuberculosis and 23 patients with resistant drugs in Hai Duong province. Lao is still a dangerous infectious disease that can be fatal if not detected and treated properly.
The health sector recommends that people should proactively prevent and go to medical facilities when they have symptoms of suspected tuberculosis such as prolonged cough, fever, weight loss... to be diagnosed early, treated according to the correct regimen, contributing to preventing tuberculosis in the community.
