On April 10, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Dr. Nguyen Huu Le - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health - said that the Department and related units are actively supporting Dermatology Hospital to overcome the difficult period.
Accordingly, the Department of Health has developed a plan to appoint the Deputy Director of the Hospital, moving towards assigning responsibility to ensure the operating apparatus.
Notably, the Department has directed and supported Nghe An Dermatology Hospital to complete the dossier of signing a medical examination and treatment contract and transferred to the provincial social insurance for consideration. Some hospitals in the province have also responded to the appeal of the Director of the Department of Health, supporting the dermatology hospital for equipment and human resources.
Some units have assigned doctors to work at Nghe An Dermatology Hospital, supporting professional equipment; the hospital pharmacy has also resumed operations. The Department of Health will advise the Provincial People's Committee to provide funding for purchasing equipment and renovating facilities for the hospital" - Dr. Nguyen Huu Le informed.
Thanks to synchronous solutions, the hospital's revenue has begun to improve, and the psychology of staff and civil servants has become more stable.
"Hopefully, when the revenue is better, the number of patients increases, and health insurance is provided for medical examination and treatment, the hospital will flourish, and have enough funding to pay salaries to staff and civil servants" - Dr. Nguyen Huu Le said.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, by early 2025, Nghe An Dermatology Hospital still owes 33 civil servants 11 months' salary in 2024 (up to now, it still owes 33 civil servants 10 months' salary).
The prolonged unpaid wages have led to many difficulties for the lives of employees at Nghe An Dermatology Hospital, many people have to borrow to cover living expenses, some families are struggling, and psychological pressure is severe.
The hospital explained that the reason for unpaid wages was the small number of patients and limited revenue.
In addition, many professional activities have not been implemented such as inpatient treatment, health insurance examination and treatment, pharmacies, general treatment departments that have not been operated, and prolonged damage to medical equipment and shortage.
Facing the aforementioned situation, the leaders of the Department of Health had repeatedly discussed and exchanged with the Health Trade Union to support and remove difficulties for Nghe An Dermatology Hospital. At one point, the Department of Health leaders had to consider the dissolution of the hospital.
The wish of the leaders of Nghe An Department of Health is to keep the Dermatology Hospital to serve the needs of medical examination and treatment for the people.
