At the same time, implementing the Prime Minister's direction on deploying free health check-ups for all people in 2026 has been implemented by the Department of Health very early.
In fact, Dien Bien province has implemented free health check-ups and consultations for people since April 25, 2026 and maintained regularly every month, at least 2 days/month. As of the end of May 25, the rate of free health check-ups and examinations for people in Dien Bien province reached about 9.9%" - Mr. Nam said.
Also according to the Director of Dien Bien Department of Health, in the early days of implementation, the health sector has focused on prioritizing vulnerable groups such as elderly people aged 60 and over, poor households, near-poor households, people with meritorious services to the revolution, people with disabilities and people who have not participated in health insurance.
For communes and wards near health centers or hospitals, people are allowed to be examined at the outpatient department of the medical unit.
For remote and isolated communes with difficult transportation, the health sector has directed the establishment of mobile examination teams to go to health stations, schools or village cultural houses to serve people.
To improve the rate of free health check-ups and examinations, meeting the requirement to bring services closer to the people, the Department of Health has requested units to continue to develop plans, prepare human resources, facilities, equipment and simultaneously organize check-ups at 45 health stations of 45 communes in 2 days, from May 30-31.5 and subsequent phases.
The Director of Dien Bien Department of Health also said that the Department will strengthen provincial-level health officials for 45 commune health stations in the next examinations. Health centers are also required to assign maximum officials to support health stations in implementing tasks.
