The National Children's Hospital has just updated the health status of baby H.N.M (10 years old, in Hanoi) - one of the survivors of the tourist boat capsize in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh.
According to information from the National Children's Hospital, after the accident, the child was lucky to be discovered and rescued by the authorities in the compartment near the engine when the ship capsized for about 4 hours.
The child was then taken to Bai Chay Hospital in a state of acute respiratory failure, treated for wound treatment, respiratory support, antibiotics, IV fluids and stabilized psychologically.
When their health was more stable, the child was transferred to the National Children's Hospital on the evening of July 20 for further treatment.
At the Emergency and Poison Control Department, the child was admitted in a state of alertness, with many scratches on his body, especially his head. Through examination and paraclinical testing, the child was diagnosed with pneumonia after drowning.
Currently, her health is stable and she has no fever. In addition to physical treatment, children are also receiving psychological support from the team of doctors in the Department of Juvenile Health with intermediate therapy activities to gradually help children access sad information about their families in a safe environment, minimize psychological trauma, with the emotional support of relatives and professionals.
During the treatment process, baby H.N.M also received practical attention and support from the National Children's Hospital, the Department of Social Work, philanthropists and a number of agencies and organizations. This companionship is a great source of encouragement to help children and families overcome this difficult and heavy period of loss.
Previously, cruise ship QN 7105 while carrying tourists on route 2 on Ha Long Bay suddenly overturned and sank in the area near Dau Go cave, Ha Long Bay, at around 1:45 p.m. on July 19.
Immediately after receiving the report of the train capsize, Quang Ninh province mobilized forces including hundreds of people and dozens of vehicles to search and rescue. After efforts to search and rescue in the waters of Ha Long Bay, the authorities have taken a 10-year-old boy out of the body of the QN-7105 tourist boat.
This baby boy was identified as H.N.M (born in 2015), residing in Hoang Mai ward, Hanoi. When found, the child was in a temporarily stable state of health but was in a state of panic.
It is known that M is the son of Mr. Th's family. The family of 4 including a couple and two young children traveled together on the fateful ship in Ha Long.
