This year, there are more children with measles, appearing sporadically and not seasonally.
Hai Duong city is a densely populated area with a large number of people traveling, creating favorable conditions for infectious diseases to spread easily. Since the beginning of the year, the city has recorded 328 cases of dengue fever; including 8 imported cases and 320 domestic cases.
Currently, along with the circulation of infectious diseases such as chickenpox; hand, foot and mouth disease, flu..., in the last week of 2024 alone, 4 cases of measles were recorded in Hai Tan, Le Thanh Nghi, Tu Minh and Tran Phu wards.
According to statistics from the Hai Duong Provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC), from January 1 to December 23, the whole province recorded 22 measles cases in 8/12 localities, an increase of 15 cases compared to the same period in 2023.
During the week alone, the province recorded 6 cases of measles in Hai Duong City and Kinh Mon Town. Among the measles cases, 3 children had not been vaccinated against measles. During the last week of 2024, the province recorded 8 cases of dengue fever, of which 4 cases had domestic epidemiological factors.
Dengue fever patients are scattered in 5 districts and cities. Along with dengue fever, in 2024, the province recorded cases of whooping cough, chickenpox, flu, hand, foot and mouth disease, COVID-19, etc.
