On August 22, Can Tho City Police said that Major General Huynh Viet Hoa - Director of the City Police, and Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Tung An - Deputy Director of the City Police, led a working group to survey the plan to renovate and relocate the City Police Hospital from the City Police headquarters to a new location at 69 Hung Vuong, Ninh Kieu Ward.

The survey activities aim to assess the current status of facilities and discuss plans to build and rearrange hospitals. This will create more favorable conditions for medical examination and treatment, serving both officers and soldiers and meeting the health care needs of the people. Participating in the professional comments were Doctor Tran Quoc Luan, Director of Can Tho General Hospital.
According to the report, the City Police Hospital was established in 2022 with a scale of 100 beds. This unit is responsible for health care for the entire force, organizing periodic health check-ups, recruitment examinations, recruitment examinations, health insurance examinations, and performing preventive and emergency medical tasks.

In recent times, the hospital has invested in many modern equipment, implementing some specialized techniques such as digestive endoscopy, ENT, etc. However, in addition to the achievements, this unit also faces many challenges. Current infrastructure has degraded, human resources in some departments are still lacking, and health insurance examination and treatment for people is still limited.
The survey and development of a plan to renovate and relocate the City Police Hospital is closely linked to the policy of the Ministry of Public Security on improving the capacity for prevention, medical examination and treatment and health care of the People's Public Security Health in the new situation.

This is an important orientation for Can Tho City Police to continue standardizing the health system, gradually improving the quality of service, meeting the requirements of work and combat, and at the same time better serving the people in the area.
In parallel with the relocation, the City Police Hospital is focusing on investing in and upgrading facilities, equipment, and human resources. The hospital also advised on the effective implementation of the Project on developing the health network in the People's Public Security by 2030, deploying the application of information technology in health management, hospital management, including electronic medical records and connecting health data with the national health data interconnection axis.
