In order to proactively prevent the spread of the disease caused by the Ebola virus, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has just issued a document requesting affiliated units to urgently implement many professional measures. The biggest goal of this deployment is to ensure absolute safety for officials, employees and passengers traveling by air.
Airlines operating at the airport need to closely coordinate with ground service forces to strictly implement the instructions of the Ministry of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control. According to the procedure, people entering the country who show signs of suspected illness will be guided to a temporary medical quarantine area to declare epidemiological information and undergo screening.
In case passengers show signs of suspicion, specialized isolation measures will be immediately applied. Health forces will take samples for testing and handle according to the correct procedures for group A infectious diseases. Ground personnel must immediately notify the quarantine department at the airport when detecting passengers with symptoms of fever, fatigue, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhea or bleeding after returning from countries with epidemics.
For units operating at the Port, leaders need to regularly disseminate the recommendations of the health sector to all employees. Officials and employees are required not to panic and need to continuously update official information from the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization. People going back and forth from epidemic areas must proactively monitor their health for 21 consecutive days.
The health sector also recommends that people absolutely do not directly contact people with signs of suspected illness or types of secretions, personal belongings of patients. When there are abnormal signs in the health of workers, it is necessary to go to a medical facility immediately and fully declare travel history for timely treatment. Whenever a suspected case is detected, units should immediately call the hotline of the airport chief of duty or the international health quarantine agency to coordinate in developing a safe response plan.
