As of October 15, the total number of employees of units under the Department of Health of Da Nang City is 7,564 people. The number of medical staff meets the health care needs of the people in the city until 2025 and the following years. However, ensuring sufficient quantity and balancing the structure of professional medical positions for all levels, fields, and regions as well as attracting and training human resources to meet the needs of specialized, high-quality healthcare needs continued attention and investment.
To ensure the implementation of attracting human resources to work long-term in accordance with current regulations on management and use of civil servants, the Department of Home Affairs has advised the City People's Committee to guide the implementation of civil servant recruitment according to the policy of attracting high-quality human resources so that agencies and units have a basis for implementation.
Implementing the resolution of the City People's Council regulating the policy of attracting doctors to public health facilities in Da Nang city for the period 2023 - 2025, the Department of Health has presided over and coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs to determine the needs and develop a plan to recruit doctors in 2023 with 142 targets.
The Department of Home Affairs has approved the Doctor Recruitment Plan according to the 2024 attraction policy with 72 targets and the Department of Health is implementing it according to regulations, currently within the application collection period.
The Department of Health is also implementing the City People's Committee's Project to increase doctors and improve the quality of medical human resources at the grassroots level to deploy a model of Health Stations operating according to the principles of family medicine in Da Nang city in the period of 2021 - 2025 and has been implemented since 2021.
Regarding the support regime, the Department of Health has supported more than 70 billion VND for 7,266 medical staff. With attention and many simultaneous measures from attracting, recruiting to supporting, the city's health sector has had many developments in both quality and quantity, basically meeting the health care needs of people in the city and in the region.
