The City People's Committee issued a Decision approving the acceptance of the Heart Surgery Program for disadvantaged children in Da Nang City for the period 2024 - 2026, sponsored by The VinaCapital Foundation, with a total cost of over 3.8 billion VND.
The project aims to screen and detect congenital heart disease early in children from birth to 18 years old in Da Nang city. At the same time, it supports the cost of congenital heart surgery for children according to the motto "All children with congenital heart disease must be treated promptly".
75,000 children in the city were screened for early detection of congenital heart disease; 105 children in the area were supported with heart surgery costs. The project owner is the Association for the Protection of Poor Women and Children of Da Nang City.
Implemented from November 2024 to December 2026, the project has a total funding of over 3.8 billion VND, equivalent to 159,934 USD.
The City People's Committee assigned the Association for the Protection of Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children of Da Nang City to coordinate with relevant units to carry out procedures to receive and implement the project for the right purpose; strictly comply with the provisions of Decree No. 80/2020/ND-CP of the Government on the Management and Use of Non-refundable Aid Not Part of Official Development Assistance of Foreign Agencies, Organizations and Individuals for Vietnam.
