On the afternoon of September 12, Sa Dec 1 Regional Medical Center, Dong Thap province, took measures to contain the dengue fever outbreak that had just appeared in Tan Thanh Hamlet, Sa Dec Ward. This is the 100th outbreak recorded to date, with a total of 172 cases of dengue fever recorded since the beginning of the year in the two areas of Sa Dec ward and Tan Duong commune.
To suppress the epidemic, medical staff and collaborators sprayed mosquito repellent, coordinated with people to kill mosquito larvae within a radius of 200m from the center of the epidemic such as: flip the buckets, bottles, rol, trellish containing water, rolled covers, water depots when not used to avoid mosquitoes laying eggs, producing mosquito larvae, mosquitoes and releasing fish to kill mosquito larvae...



At the same time, the locality also organized the distribution of leaflets to disseminate to the people about the harmful effects and dangers of dengue fever. Thereby, mobilizing people to take preventive measures such as: cleaning up their workplace, living, from the house to the surrounding house, not leaving water to accumulate mosquito larvae; using spray, nhung, mosquito repellent, wearing long-sleeved clothes, sleeping on the mat even during the day... to avoid mosquito bites.
According to the recommendations of the health sector, currently, there is no specific treatment for dengue fever, so proactive vaccination is an effective preventive measure, helping to protect yourself and the community from the epidemic. The health agency recommends that when there are symptoms such as: sudden high fever, headache, muscle pain, joint pain, loss of appetite, nausea, etc., you need to go to a medical facility for timely advice and treatment.
