On the afternoon of January 20, the leader of the Binh Dinh Province Department of Health confirmed that he had requested the Food Safety and Hygiene Department to inspect the Moc buffet restaurant (Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, Quy Nhon City) after receiving information that a group of tourists were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning after eating at this restaurant.
"After checking, there were 8 people who ate buffet at Moc restaurant on the evening of January 18. At 3-4 am the next day, they had symptoms of stomach ache and vomiting, so they went to the hospital for examination. Currently, the health of the above cases is stable," he said.
Previously, on the evening of January 18, a group of tourists from Hanoi traveling to Binh Dinh went to Moc buffet restaurant to eat. By the early morning of January 19, many people in the group showed signs of vomiting, fever... and had to be hospitalized for treatment.
Speaking to Lao Dong, the leader of Thu Phuc General Hospital (Quy Nhon City) said that a group of 8 people who went to Moc buffet restaurant to eat seafood had symptoms of allergies, vomiting, suspected of food poisoning, so they bought medicine to take and got better. As for Ms. H and her child (tourists from Hanoi), their condition was more serious and they had to be hospitalized (the child was 8 months old) for treatment.
"After treatment, the patient's health has stabilized and he has requested to be discharged from the hospital. We are actively treating him and have decided to waive all hospital fees for the family, because they are tourists coming to Binh Dinh. This is an unexpected incident, we hope everyone will capture the beautiful image of Binh Dinh people when they set foot in this land," he said.
On the same day, confirming with Lao Dong, Mr. T - owner of Moc buffet restaurant - said that he had grasped the information of the incident and had visited and apologized to the guests involved in the above incident.
"We are still investigating to clarify the cause of the incident. Although the outcome is not yet clear, as the owner, I have visited and apologized to the tourists," said Mr. T.
