From April 2-5, Can Tho City will organize a measles vaccination campaign in 2025 at vaccination points of communes, wards and towns in the area. In this campaign, Can Tho integrates with the implementation of compensatory vaccination for children who have reviewed the history of school vaccination, children of the target group in 2024 have not been fully vaccinated in the Expanded Immunization Program.
According to the records at the vaccination point, children have their vaccination history checked, screened before being vaccinated against measles; ready to provide full emergency equipment, medicine, epidemics, and means of transportation.
The subjects of this campaign are children who have not been vaccinated, have unknown vaccination history, or have not been vaccinated with 2 doses of measles vaccine.
It is known that before and during the campaign, the inspection team of CDC Can Tho and the Medical Centers of districts and towns conducted inspections and supervision of vaccination points at health stations.
Regarding the disease situation in Can Tho, in 2024, Can Tho recorded 191 cases of measles positive and 250 cases of clinically diagnosed measles. No deaths have been recorded. From the beginning of 2025 to March 15, 2025, Can Tho recorded 29 cases of measles positive, 254 cases of clinical diagnosed measles. No deaths have been recorded.
According to the results from 2024 to 2025, Can Tho recorded 9 measles outbreaks ( ended) in 9 districts/counties.
The number of suspected measles rash fever cases in the first quarter of 2025 increased compared to the same period, the health sector predicts that the measles situation will continue to develop complicatedly in the coming time, thereby promoting the implementation of many disease prevention and control measures.
