On October 1, the Vinh Long Provincial Department of Health held a conference to summarize the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and the peak results of the implementation of the VNeID integrated Electronic Health Book.
According to the report, Vinh Long province has completed 100% of medical examination and treatment facilities (47/47, both public and private) implementing EMR, reaching the finish line 9 days ahead of the target assigned by the Prime Minister.
The implementation of EMR standardizes and digitizes medical records data, helping to access quickly, reduce errors, limit duplication of tests, and shorten the time for medical examination and treatment.

During the peak period, more than 1 million people have integrated Electronic Health Books on VNeID, making Vinh Long the leading country in terms of growth rate.
Speaking at the conference, Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hang - Director of Vinh Long Department of Health - emphasized that the EMR implementation process faces many challenges, from limited IT infrastructure, lack of funding, to the habit of using long-standing paper records.
Ms. Hang affirmed: We have created a solid foundation for Vinh Long digital healthcare, with the goal of one will, one action. EMR is a starting point, a foundation for future follow-up applications.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee - said that this is an important milestone, helping Vinh Long build a smart healthcare system, and at the same time an important preparation step to welcome the Provincial Party Congress.
She emphasized EMR and the Electronic Health Book interconnecting data, integrating digital identity via VNeID, supporting more accurate diagnosis.
However, Ms. Be Muoi also pointed out the remaining difficulties: unsynchronized IT infrastructure, limited IT and healthcare human resources, large maintenance costs, and personal data security issues.
"The whole industry continues to make efforts to ensure a uniform digital infrastructure between urban and rural areas, both improving the quality of healthcare and being worthy of the people's trust in the occasion of welcoming the Congress," Ms. Muoi emphasized this content.
