Dr.BS. Ho Thi Thu Hang - Director of the Department of Health of Vinh Long province - said that by mid-2025, Vinh Long province will have a rate of 10.7 doctors per 10,000 people, exceeding the target of 10.5 doctors/10,000 people according to the health human resource development plan for the period 2020-2025.
This is the result of the drastic participation of the local health sector in training, attracting and retaining the medical team.
The whole province currently has more than 920 doctors working in the public health system and nearly 190 doctors working in private health facilities. The increase in the number of doctors not only helps improve the quality of medical examination and treatment but also reduces pressure on grassroots health care.
According to Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hang, the industry has synchronously deployed solutions, from on-site training, rotating doctors to remote areas, to attracting human resources outside the province. At the same time, focus on improving quality through in-depth technical transfer and developing medical infrastructure.
"The implementation of the Project to develop the Provincial General Hospital into a Grade I hospital and the end of the region has created a turning point, not only keeping good doctors but also attracting high-quality human resources from other places to work," added the Director of the Department of Health of Vinh Long province.
This result is the foundation for Vinh Long to continue developing a sustainable health system, aiming to serve the people better and better.
