The subject arrested is Nguyen Van Quyen (born in 1996, residing in Nghia Le Say village, My Ha commune, My Loc district, Nam Dinh province).
Previously, at around 9:00 a.m. on June 16, the Criminal Police Department received a report from Mr. T.D.N (residing in Hong Gai Ward, Ha Long City) about a thief breaking into his private house at 2:00 a.m.
The subject sneaked into the house and stole 4 mobile phones (including: 1 iPhone 15 Pro Max, 1 iPhone 14 Pro Max, 1 iPhone XS Max, 1 old Samsung), 1 handbag, 1 piggy bank and some cash.
The total value of the stolen property is estimated at about 44.18 million VND.
Immediately after receiving the report, the leaders of the Criminal Police Department directed the Crime Prevention and Investigation Team to coordinate with Hong Gai Ward Police and the police of related areas to verify and investigate the subject.
At around 11:30 a.m. the same day, the authorities identified, arrested Nguyen Van Quyen and seized all the evidence of the case.
At the police station, Quyen confessed that due to lack of money to spend, he took advantage of the time when the homeowner was sleeping and discovered that the second floor window was unlocked and immediately broke in to steal property.
