On the evening of June 10, the Criminal Police Department, Da Nang City Police issued a decision to temporarily detain Le Ngoc Su (born in 2007), residing in Trung Son Commune, A Luoi District, Hue City to continue investigating and clarifying the act of "robbery".
Previously, at around 0:15 on June 5, while sitting in the back seat of a Grab car traveling from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Vo Van Kiet Street (Son Tra District, Da Nang City), Ms. Duong Hai L (born in 2000, residing in Nghia Do Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi) was suddenly taken by a young man driving a black yellow Exciter motorbike from behind through the glass door to snatch the handbag (with an Airpod and 2 million VND). This subject escaped from the scene to the unbelievable surprise of the victim and the driver.
At about 1:05 a.m. the same day, Ms. Nguyen Thi D (born in 2008, residing in Tien Hiep commune, Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam province) was standing on the sidewalk of Vo Nguyen Giap street when a young man wearing a white T-shirt, riding an Exciter, approached and snatched the phone she was holding in her hand.
Receiving reports from the two victims, the Criminal Police Department determined that the two incidents may have been committed by one subject. However, due to the time of the incident in the middle of the night, with few people passing by, and the subject did not leave many traces, identification and tracing encountered many difficulties.
After many meetings to find solutions and deploy professional measures, at 5:00 p.m. on June 10, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police identified and arrested the perpetrator, Le Ngoc Su.
In the initial struggle, Su confessed to committing the two robberies mentioned above. It is known that Le Ngoc Su was forced to go to a reform school for 18 months for the same behavior.
After leaving the school, the subject returned to A Luoi for a short time, then went to Da Nang to work as a sideline for a living and continued to commit the two consecutive robberies mentioned above. The case is currently being further investigated by the Criminal Police Department of the City Police.
