On the afternoon of June 11, Ms. Quach Thi Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province said that the Chief Inspector of the Department has just issued a decision to administratively sanction 3 CP Fresh Shop stores of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company.
According to the decision, the stores were fined for trading in food with a Certificate of Food Safety Eligibility but has expired. Each store was fined 35 million VND, a total of 105 million VND.

Previously, on May 30, a social media account posted an article reflecting his work at a meat distribution store in the CP Vietnam system in My Xuyen district (Soc Trang province). This person accused the store and some leaders of bringing poor quality meat to the market, potentially seriously affecting public health. The poster also suggested that the authorities quickly take action to verify and handle if violations were detected.
Immediately afterwards, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province directed the Provincial Police and related units to conduct an inspection, if there were any violations, they would be strictly handled according to the law.
On May 30 and 31, the interdisciplinary inspection team inspected 4 business locations of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company - Branch in Can Tho in the province.
On June 2, the Department of Agriculture and Environment sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee. According to the records at the time of inspection, the team had not detected any sick pigs, sick chickens, or goods with a foul smell or expired.
However, all 3 locations have expired Certificates of Food Safety Eligibility; at the same time, 3 locations have not yet presented the original certificate of business registration and all 4 locations have not yet presented certificates of food safety training in accordance with legal regulations.
