The investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway section through Hai Phong city has a total length of about 89.88 km, passing through 24 communes, wards, and special zones including: Cam Giang, Ke Sat, Mao Dien, Binh Giang, Yet Kieu, Gia Loc, Gia Phuc, Tan Ky, Tu Ky, Dai Son, Chi Son, Ha Dong, An Quang, Quyet Thang, An Khanh, An Hung, Kien Thuy, Kien Minh, Duong Kinh, Hai An, Dong Hai, Nam Do Son communes, Kien Hai commune and Cat Hai special zone.
The total land area to be recovered is about 624.13 hectares, with 6,096 households affected; the total estimated cost for site clearance is about 9,753 billion VND.
Up to now, the project has determined the number of households that need to be resettled; completed the measurement, extraction, recording and determination of land users to serve the preparation of land recovery records for the main route through 24 communes, wards and special zones. At the same time, it has reviewed and compiled statistics on affected traffic infrastructure, agriculture, and power supply systems to serve the project implementation.

After listening to the reports of representatives of relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan emphasized: The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project is a national key project, of strategic significance in connecting inter-regional traffic, creating momentum to promote the socio-economic development of the Northern region in general and Hai Phong city in particular.
To ensure the implementation progress according to the direction of the Prime Minister, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested relevant localities to focus on accelerating the planning and construction progress of resettlement areas; strengthening land management, construction order in the area; seriously and fully implementing the work of extracting, recording, verifying the origin of land and conditions for resettlement support for people.
The Permanent Vice Chairman also assigned relevant departments, branches and sectors to closely coordinate with localities in compensation and site clearance, ensuring synchronization, on schedule and in accordance with legal regulations.
