The Bac Son extended road project is a key traffic project of Thai Nguyen, started in July 2018. The route is more than 9km long, designed with 6 lanes, a cross-section of 61 m with a total investment of more than VND 2,100 billion.
The project was originally scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019, but has repeatedly requested an extension. In mid-April 2025, the project was restarted.
Currently, the investor is mobilizing equipment and human resources to speed up the construction of items such as as asphalt, sidewalks, trees, and lighting. It is expected that the entire route will be completed and put into use before July 2025.

After many years of stagnation, the resumed Bac Son extended road project has created a strong boost for the regional real estate market. Immediately after the project was resumed, land prices along both sides of the route increased significantly.
Mr. Tran Phuong - Duong Anh Galaxy Thai Nguyen real estate trading point said that recently, the wave of land purchase on Bac Son route has increased significantly.
"Here, it is mainly auctioned land. Currently, residential areas are also growing on both sides of the road. The real estate price here ranges from 12 to 35 million VND/m2. Compared to before, the price ranges from 8 to 10 depending on the location.
Currently, there are many buyers but few sellers. The landowner is probably waiting for the project to be completed to get a better price," said Mr. Phuong.


Similarly, Mr. Ho Huu Hanh (Thai Nguyen City) said that compared to the same period in 2023, the price has increased. If the land is at lot 2, about 50100m from the road, it will even increase by tens of millions of VND per square meter, especially the lots near major intersections such as To Huu or Cao Trang.
According to Mr. Hanh, if compared to 2020, when land prices in this area only fluctuated around 1215 million VND/m2, the current increase has doubled, even nearly tripled. The main reason comes from the gradually improving infrastructure, expecting population and trade growth in the near future.
With a strategic location, located between the administrative - service center and a large tourist area of the province, the land fund along the extended Bac Son route is assessed to have more room for price increase. When the route is completed in mid-2025, the land value here will continue to increase thanks to the synchronous development of infrastructure.
